TAMPA, FL--(MARKET WIRE)--Mar 26, 2007 -- Deer Valley Corporation ("Deer Valley" or the "Company") (OTC BB:DVLY.OB - News) today announced that it has chosen the South Central Manufactured Housing Institute Show in Tunica, Mississippi to showcase its recent entry in the production and sale of modular homes. Biggest tenant to buy former Loom plant

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (AP) - The modular home factory set up after Hurricane Katrina in an industrial building shuttered for years is now buying the facility, with tax-exempt bonds to finance the deal and a 10-year property tax exemption to help it along.

Louisiana System Built Homes occupies 300,000 square feet of the International Trade Center - a Fruit of the Loom plant when it shut down in 2001, putting 3,000 people out of work.

The modular home company's chief executive officer, Aubrey Shoemake, told the St. Martin Economic Development Authority last week that he is buying the 1 million-square-foot building.

The board unanimously adopted a resolution sponsoring $10 million in low-interest, tax-exempt bonds to buy and renovate the plant.

Shoemake is buying the building from Larry Leger of Carencro, who bought it a year ago from the development firm which had bought it out of bankruptcy.

MAWSS justified in plugging sewer lines

IT PROBABLY should have been done sooner rather than later, but the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System is right to shut off sewer service to customers who haven't paid their bills for years.

MAWSS officials knew they would upset some people by threatening to stop up their sewer lines and reporting them to the Mobile County Health Department. In turn, the Health Department is threatening to take them to court to force them to vacate their homes. (Septic tanks are not an option where sewer service is available.)

That's pretty drastic action, but it is merited.

Some 414 customers living near the mouth of Dog River, near the intersection of U.S. 90 and Bellingrath Road, and between Interstate 10 and Pascagoula Road north of Theodore Dawes Road had not paid their sewer bills, in some cases for more than a decade.

Short-hopping: Buck starting for Oakland

This piece serves to bring you up to speed on all the news and notes you need to dominate your league coming out of a long weekend.

Fantasy forces: High yields

Carl Pavano was tabbed as the opening day starter for Joe Torre's Yankees as the veteran hurler ends a 21-month layoff. Given the high-scoring nature of the Yankees' offense, Pavano stands to win his share of games if healthy. It's just a matter of whether he can avoid the DL and how his other fantasy totals play out. He allowed one run through his first four innings of work in spite of errors from both Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez.

The A's open the season with Travis Buck as their surprise starter in right field. He batted .339 this spring with eight extra-base hits in 62 at-bats. Buck scored 11 runs and knocked in nine.
